Join the RTB Chicago Chapter for their monthly meeting featuring Reasons to Believe scholar, Fazale Rana. He will be giving a talk on “Transhumanism: Humans 2.0”. Advances in genetic engineering and the development of increasingly sophisticated prosthetic devices make it possible to treat a number of debilitating diseases and injury, mitigating significant human suffering. But these technologies also provide the gateway to enhance human physical, intellectual, and psychological capabilities. These emerging capabilities have spawned an intellectual and cultural movement called transhumanism. Some radical proponents of transhumanism see technology as the path to eternal life. This talk will propose a framework to help Christians address questions about this emerging biotechnology, and in so doing, stand with confidence for the dignity and sanctity of human life.
